Melodi: New Single June 5th

MelodiBristol-based Alt-Rock artist MELODI is set to release her latest single ‘Twilight Sleep’ on the 5th of June 2020 via Tunecore, available to stream and download on Spotify & Apple Music.

Turkish-born Melodi first established herself as an artist back in 2018. Whilst studying vocals at a university in Bristol, Melodi began developing a unique blend of contemporary alt-rock, with middle eastern inspired melodies, wrapping it all up with her signature gothic flare. To further exhibit her roots, Melodi cleverly incorporated the Turkish spelling for melody to reflect a part of her musical identity.

The intoxicating lullaby of ‘Twilight Sleep’ is a musical manifestation of Melodi’s battle with depression and her experience of the side effects from the antidepressants she was taking during the time of the song’s creation. Melodi has laced her lyrics with classical vocals that melt into a soft, haunting wisp, transcending into a bewitching orchestral soundscape.

The new single ‘Twilight Sleep’ was recorded at J&J Studios in Bristol (Portishead), mixed by the talented Wynter at Sphynx Studio (Gaia, Kesagake, Bloodshot Dawn) in Brighton, and mastered by Martin at The White House Studio (Bob Marley Tapes, Sylosis, Malicious Inc) in Weston-Super-Mare.

Melodi’s previous singles ‘Ghost’ and ‘Buried’ have been broadcasted across BBC Upload Bristol, KTCR FM’s Rock Show and CJLO Radio in Canada, to name a few.
Before the lockdown, Melodi had been bringing a spiritual awakening to her performances at Bristol’s Harbourside Festival in 2018 & 2019, as well as headline shows in the UK and Germany. Playing alongside the likes of Poison Crow, Miss Kill, Ria Plays, Twin Arrow and many more!
