Adding another signing to an ever-growing roster, Scottish indie band Gallus join Marshall Records shortly after the announcement of Nova Twins and Gen and the Degenerates. Born out of Glasgow, the five-piece band fuse old school sensibilities of punk into their clean cut and yet chaotic indie, a sign often seen in the bands live performances. The signing comes ahead of a busy run of shows for the quintet.
Lead singer Barry Dolan comments on the signing saying, “We are really excited about working more closely with the Marshall brand! We are already part of the Marshall Live Agency so we know we are in good hands. The enthusiasm the label have shown for us in such a short space of time is invaluable as we go into a pivotal point in our careers. Everyone involved has worked extremely hard up to this point so we’re going to continue to do what we do and can’t wait to see what can be achieved with such a fantastic team behind us! We want to thank everyone that’s supported us so far and we’re buzzed about all the fun things we have planned. It’s show time baby!”
The band follow on from the signing announcement with a run of dates kicking off with a sold out home town show at Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on September 2nd that sold within hours of it going onsale, then Gallus head to Aberdeen’s Café Drummond on the 3rd. Shortly followed up by a slot at TRNSMT festival and a Music Venue Trust Revive the Live tour with label mates Gen and the Degenerates as well as a December headline run around the rest of the UK.

About Gallus:
Gallus started out a couple of years ago simply as a means of gaining experience playing in front of an audience for founding members and cousins Eamon and Paul Ewins. With no singer in place, the pair sounded out their friend Barry Dolan as the man they wanted front and centre after seeing him in a play. Despite not having a background in music, Dolan jumped at the opportunity and was able to provide the dynamism that their no holds barred music needed. The name “Gallus”, meaning bold and daring in Scots, was a natural choice with it also being the name of the Glasgow pub in which the group became friends.
Since then Gallus have earned a reputation as one of the country’s most exhilarating live acts, earning award nominations and selling out venues in their home nation of Scotland. Having twice sold out the iconic King Tut’s in Glasgow, and billed for this year’s TRNSMT festival, Gallus have emerged from the pandemic in a position of real strength. With a headline tour in England booked for December and their place secured in the First 50 for The Great Escape, Gallus’s reputation is growing rapidly UK-wide. Their debut album is now in the pipeline for 2022 after having signed a record deal with Marshall Records and the 5-piece show no signs of relenting on their trajectory.
