Following the recent announcement of the upcoming European segment of their ‘Gimme Love’ worldwide tour, Melbourne’s most explosive classic rock quintet ELECTRIC MARY have released a brand new music video for their latest single, ‘It’s Alright’!
Taken from their fourth studio album ‘Mother’, which was released in February of this year via Listenable Records, ELECTRIC MARY’s latest single release is gospel laden chant for the future with a heavy rock groove from the past.
Simultaneously, ‘It’s Alright’ carries an important message of hope for the downtrodden, as band vocalist Rusty explains…
“While writing lyrics for ‘Mother’, there was one subject I felt compelled to address, and it wasn’t an easy task. ‘It’s Alright” is a song about depression and anxiety, something that is very real to me and many others around the world…”
“When I’d finished the lyrics and sat back to read through them, I was deeply pleased that rather than focusing on the pain or suffering of these topics, I had in fact written about the positivity of talking about them. There isn’t a single negative word in the lyrics”. Adding a final, encompassing point to their latest single, Rusty continues; “I want people to understand that if you open up about your problems you will find you have a lot of people that will support you.”
Merging the foundations of a lyric video with a gritty, stylistic work of animated art, ELECTRIC MARY’s accompanying video combines elements of seedy, graphic novel artwork with the vibrant exaggerations of pop art. Muscle cars, run-down bars and sprawling cityscape vistas illuminated in a neon glow, the video for ‘It’s Alright’ perfectly characterises the band’s classic rock’n’roll vibe, serving as a perfect reminder ahead of the upcoming European leg of their ‘Gimme Love’ tour.
ELECTRIC MARY’s ‘Gimme Love’ tour will bring the band back to Europe for the first time in three years, celebrating their latest studio release ‘Mother’ – an album that received high praise upon release from the likes of Classic Rock, Planet Rock and Fireworks Magazine. The Tour also sees the band sharing stages with rock legends Y&T and Skid Row.
