Dorja: New Video – ‘Dust’

Born from a transatlantic project in 2016, Dorja instantly made noise within the rock scene. Comprised of professional musicians from different walks of life, Dorja’s mix of cultures, genders and musical experiences adds to their unique sound. With multiple UK/European tours, a successful debut album under their belt, as well as early playlisting support from Planet Rock Radio, the band have quickly proven they are ones to watch.

The release of Persephone marks an exciting new chapter for Dorja, who recently welcomed bassist Oliver Lee and guitarist Alex Scheuerer into the fold. The addition of two new members has developed Dorja’s signature sound, adding a modern twist without losing the passion and raucous energy they already possessed.

The EP’s five tracks were written and recorded during the darkest year Dorja have experienced so far – and it shows. With lyrics exploring subjects including apocalypse and death, the band’s new music is much darker than their 2019 album Gemini. While Persephone still echoes the hard rock roots of their previous material, the new EP offers a twist of fresh production and a deeper complex of songwriting, guaranteed to thrill both old and new fans alike.

What started as music therapy through the first COVID-19 lockdown quickly became an exciting outlet for Dorja, who were already used to working remotely on their material. Now a year on, Spring 2021 is the perfect time to unveil these five tracks, as Persephone comes out from the underworld and a new cycle begins.
