Ahead of the release of their debut EP, ‘Making Cash For Heartless Crooks’, Swedish outfit Diamonds and Guns have released the first single from the EP; ‘So Long, Chicago’.
The band states:
“…’Making Cash For Heartless Crooks” has a little bit happier tone than our earlier releases. More nostalgic, party – and a small flirt with summer feelings. Melancholic, harmonious, energetic, and beautiful dynamics between darkness and light in the lyrics. The single, ‘So Long, Chicago, is a modern, upbeat, and great catchy punk rock song. Both glad and sad story. About the heart, purposefulness, and the past.”
The self-produced EP contains five tracks; a beautiful intro and four songs. Mixed by the legend Tomas Skogsberg/Sunlight Studios (The Hellacopters, Entombed, Backyard Babies, with more).
Mastered by Sverker Widgren/Wings Studios.
The band signed a distribution deal with Sound Pollution in spring 2023.

01. INTRO (MAKING CASH FOR HEARTLESS CROOKS)
From the beginning (and still, live purpose) a longer alternative ending to the song “Oh’ thx for Friday”. A beautiful intro, enough said.
02. SO LONG, CHICAGO
A modern, upbeat, and a great catchy punkrock song. Both glad and sad story. About the heart, purposefulness, and the past.
03. NEVERTHELESS
Classic punkrock song about nostalgia and summer vibes. A bit harder Beach Boys’ song.
04. SEPTEMBER
A story about the last summer party, danceable and nostalgic.
05. OH’ THX FOR FRIDAY
The most alternative and dynamic track of the EP, that’s about the desire for Friday and weekend. Melancholic, danceable with some flirting with disco rhythms and a glint of “Careless Whisper” feelings, from the legend George Michael.
SHORT BIO:
2019, Sthlm, SWE, four friends who decided to start a rock band. When the band discussed the band name, it was directly between; bad suggestions or “Diamonds and Guns”. Through the pandemic, the band has recorded three homemade/recorded productions/releases and music videos; “The Lonesome Man”, “Cheers To Us” och “Singing Songs From Hell”. Now, with the legend Tomas Skogsberg (The Hellacopters, Entombed, Backyard Babies, with more) behind the wheels, the band has shifted gear! 2023 will the band release their debut EP “Making Cash For Heartless Crooks”.
