Introducing: Mossie

Mossie

Get the lowdown on one of Yorkshires finest; Mossie, right here, and discover why they are here for a good time not a long time!

What are the origins of the band, how long have you been playing together?

So we’re all Yorkshire in the north of England. We’ve not actually been together all that long. We got together last year in 2019, but have been making fast progress. . . We kind of clicked straight away which obviously always helps!

How did you feel performing your first gig? And how was it?!

First gig actually went really well, it was a dingy bar but was busy, we just rocked it it, I’m sure not the smoothest performance but that’s not what Rock n Roll is about it is it!

What should people expect when they check the band/you out? How would you describe yourself?

Have a look and see… We’re from Yorkshire, we’re rough and ready and we are here for a good time not a long time!

The new music scene is bursting at the seams with fresh talent, in what ways do you feel that a band has to stand out from the others trying to build a name?

I think you just gotta believe in what you are doing and keep at it. You are right there is a lot of new good talent around but people love music and there is an audience for everyone. Follow your heart with it.

What are you working on at the minute that people can check out?

We’ve got an EP coming out soon, we have most of the music down for that and just trying to finish it off, If Corona Virus will let us! 😊 Check out our social media, Instagram/Facebook in the meantime

What band out there at the minute do you feel that you would be best suited to open for?

Oh that’s a good question, mainly because there are a lot of bands I feel should open for us not the other way around, So I reckon they would have to be god like. Probably Foo Fighters or Arctic Monkeys.

Who do you feel is the next band to break out?

Us.

What are your first musical memories? And what was the light bulb moment that made you go “I want to do that”?

Another good question. . We all have musical talent surrounding us, family members that are musical. It’s hard to keep away and there is nothing quite like the buzz of being on stage and rocking it out.

What was the last gig that you attended as a fan?

Went to see Jake Bugg in Leeds late 2019 – Love his voice, was a good gig!

The album that you have in your album collection/spotify playlist that would surprise most people?

I love a bit of Lighthouse Family in truth. . .surprising I guess but yeah he has a real soulful voice, I can chill out to that anytime!

What are your plans for 2020?

We’re going to take over the world. . .one day at a time.

How active are you on social media and where can people connect with you?

Yeah get us on Instagram and Facebook we’re always posting stuff on there, snippets of our new music and what we are up to. Check us out! Thanks for having us dude!
