Michalina Malisz’s New Band – LYRRE

LYRRE is a neomedieval metal band from Kraków, Poland, founded by Michalina Malisz (hurdy-gurdy, vocals) and her husband, Piotr Martuś (guitar).

The band’s line-up was revealed on the 15th of July on Malisz’s social media channels, a few days after her last show with the folk metal giants, Eluveitie.

“We are beyond excited to present to you our new hurdy-gurdy-powered band – LYRRE.”

It all started in the summer of 2020 when Michalina Malisz (hurdy-gurdy, vocals; formerly known from Eluveitie) and her husband, Piotr Martuś (guitar) sat together and started creating the vision for their joint project. They let their imaginations run wild, however, there were a few pillars that simply had to be included: metal riffs, legendary inspirations, and of course – copious amounts of hurdy-gurdy!

Two years of hard work resulted in the founding of a 4-piece band, writing an album, and creating a world inspired by all things epic and mythical. As of today, the door to this world has been opened!

“We can not wait to share further details about LYRRE with you, and most importantly – we are eager to present to you our music! Updates in this regard will be posted on our social media. Follow LYRRE and be amongst our very first listeners when the songs start coming!” – comments the band.
