Introducing: TramstonValley

TramstonValley is a Japanese 3 piece rock band, and acoustic band based in Tokyo. Founding member Haruki talks us through an introduction to the band.

What are the origins of TramstonValley?

Our origin is an acoustic jam at infinity books Asakusa Japan. We’ve been playing together for 5 years.

What should people expect when they check the band out? How would you describe TramstonValley?

90’s, early 2000s rock music and blues, classic rock.

How did you feel performing your first gig as a band, and how was it?!

It was good. We had good originality and possibility.

The new music scene is bursting at the seams at the minute with fresh talent, in what ways do you feel that a band has to stand out to build a name for themselves?

Pursue originality. And we have to add songs to the big playlist of streaming services.

In terms of a similar audience, which band out there at the minute do you feel you would be best suited to open for?

Black Stone Cherry, Stone temple pilots, Robert Jon & The Wreck, Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown, Cardinal Black.

Excluding yourself, which new band would you like to see break out and become a success?

Taddy Porter. Recently I found the guys on Spotify. I like their songs.

What are your own first musical memories? And what was the lightbulb moment that made you go “I want to do that”?

My first memory is watching my uncle playing guitar. At that moment I thought I wanted to play guitar too.

What was the last gig that you attended as a fan?

John Mayer at Nippon Budokan 2019.

What current social issue are you particularly passionate about?

Nothing. Because I have fibromyalgia I’m fighting my pains every day.

What new music have you been enjoying so far this year?

Dirty Work by Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown

What does the remainder of 2023 hold for TramstonValley?

Patience.
