NATE BERGMAN, the Nashville by way of D.C. singer-songwriter, is a performer with a voice that transcends generations. His powerful vocals create a timeless sound that weaves through the rich tapestry of Nashville’s musical heritage. Bergman’s unique ability to infuse elements of country, rock, folk, and soul results in a sound that resonates with an increasingly diverse audience.
Fresh off a sold out show with influential post-hardcore group Thursday in London last week, today NATE BERGMAN slows time down with reflective, emotional new single “Deep End.”
Nate sings and plays guitar on the acoustic track, with bass duties competently handled by The Raconteurs’ Jack Lawrence. Captured in one take live to 2-inch tape, with no digital editing, it was produced by Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes, Margo Price) and Nate at The Bomb Shelter studio in Nashville.
Nate shares, “The song is about facing the consequences of diving head-first into any risky situation in life. Whether it’s the gamble of a new relationship, moving to a new city, or pursuing your dreams in any fashion. It’s about the results of things not going as planned. Getting caught up in the potential future of that situation and having it not work out. That’s such a ubiquitous part of the human experience. Things eventually always get better, but the song’s vibe is about sitting at the rock bottom and realising you’re too deep to turn back.”

Fans can also check out recently released, melancholic single “Wish I Was” with its retro gaming-inspired video. Again handling vocals and guitar himself, the track also features Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs) on bass, Megan Coleman (Jenny Lewis) on drums, and Jo Schornikow (Phosphorescent) on Hammond B3 and piano.
“Wish I Was” came hot on the heels of a live cut of standalone single “War On The Working Class.” Recorded in Anaheim, California in 2023, stream that version on Spotify here. Earlier this year, NATE BERGMAN unveiled new track “Back To Nashville“, which was promptly voted ‘Track Of The Week’ by Classic Rock readers, as well as landing a prime slot on Planet Rock Radio’s Stateside Playlist. Nate revealed, “‘Back To Nashville’ is a deeply personal story about starting over in the face of a great loss. Transitioning pain into strength and moving forward through pain and adversity. Everyone has a place like Nashville even if it’s a refuge in your own mind.” Fans can also watch a video for song, “If I Was,” shared in October.
