Introducing: Demi The Daredevil

Standing out with creepy theatrics, intricate arrangements, and deep lyrics, fans describe Demi the Daredevil as “raw, relatable, and also inspirational and unique.” Demi the Daredevil is an Alternative Rock band formed and fronted by Jeff Azar in Austin, TX. Demi draws on the widest variety of influences including Soft Rock, Emo Punk, Classical and Show tune influences to name a few. Here’s the lowdown on Demi The Daredevil from Jeff himself.

What are the origins of the band, how long have you been playing together?

Band origins: I started off as the drummer, and after the lead singer passed away, I took over lead vocals. Overtime I started recording all the parts myself. There’s a power in having access to professional recording software now. You used to rely on other band members to make magic happen but it’s going to be more common for there to be solo artists now.

How did you feel performing your first gig? And how was it?!

Oh. My. God. We got booed off the stage. Maybe not booed but they were flickering the lights on and off and wanting us to leave. It was at a high school “coffeehouse” show where rock bands at the school played. We were more in the Green Day and Blink 182 realm, and the scene was a kind of indie emo hardcore thing… like At the Drive-In, Cursive, maybe Block Party…

What should people expect when they check the band/you out? How would you describe yourself?

You should expect to be taken away to a non-threatening gothic fantasy with catchy but meaningful music.

The new music scene is bursting at the seams with talent, in what ways do you feel that a band has to stand out from the others trying to build a name?

By knowing what makes you stand out. It’s one thing for people to see you as unique but then you gotta define it is exactly that makes you unique from others bands in your genre.

What are you working on at the minute that people can check out?

You can check out the EP “Magic+ Accidents” available everywhere. Produced by Sean O’Keefe of Fall Out Boy and The Hush Sound. Keep on the lookout September 2020 for something else.

What band out there at the minute do you feel that you would be best suited to open for?

IDKHOW BUT THEY FOUND ME.

Who do you feel is the next band to break out?

Daredevil the Demi!

What are your first musical memories? And what was the light bulb moment that made you go “I want to do that”?

I went and saw 311 in concert, and I was watching the band Pepper open for them. And watching them on stage. The stage seemed so big. Their world seemed so big and scary. Something drew me to being in a band from that.

What was the last gig that you attended as a fan?

Twenty one pilots in Austin,Texas.

The album that you have in your album collection/spotify playlist that would surprise most people?

The Supremes or Nickelback. Just kidding not Nickleback gross. Jk I don’t think they are gross his voice just sounds dumb.

What are your plans for the remainder of 2020?

Have a choose your own track album. Get a song licensed to a show. Play some select city shows. Get more cool features like this and grow the fanbase!
