Introducing: Death & Legacy

Spanish metal outfit Death & Legacy recently released a new album in the shape of ‘INF3RNO’, guitarist Jesús Cámara filled in the blanks on our introduction to the band.

What are the origins of the band, how long have you been playing together?

We started in 2013, in Zamora (Spain). We were friends many years ago, playing in other bands, but sometimes at the same festivals, stages, etc… We wanted to play together because we love the same music, some jokes… it is very funny for us… so, we started like a new band. We had recorded one Ep and three albums. Our most recent release is the third album “INF3RNO”. It is a complete concept art, lyric, music, artwork.. that try to explain why there are too many hells in the world, not only the catholic hell… heaven, Earth, society, human race, our mind, ourselves…

How did you feel performing your first gig? And how was it?!

I remember that it was very exciting. Everybody was very nervous, because we played at home, with a very important band, and there were many people. It was great!

What should people expect when they check the band out? How would you describe yourself?

They could see a strong and passionate band on the stage. 100% metal and heart and soul, very funny, and trying to do the best every moment.

The new music scene is bursting at the seams with fresh talent, in what ways do you feel that a band has to stand out from the others trying to build a name?

Absolutely, where you play, there are so many bands with huge talent. You have to believe in yourself, working very hard, every day, and be honest with your feelings.

What are you working on at the minute that people can check out?

In the promotion of the new album “INF3RNO” and in the next project… always working on music.

What band out there at the minute do you feel that you would be best suited to open for?

It will be an honor to open for many many bands that we love since we were teenagers, but I feel, for our music, In This Moment, Arch Enemy could be the best.

Who do you feel is the next band to break out?

I think is already a reality, Jinjer is the new wave, and they open doors.

What are your first musical memories? And what was the light bulb moment that made you go “I want to do that”?

Since I was a teenager, I’ve always dreaming to play music on big stages, with my favorites bands. It was a natural step, studying music and the passion to play and create my own music.

What was the last gig that you attended as a fan?

I think… Hypocrisy + Arch Enemy + Amon Amarth.

The album that you have in your album collection/Spotify playlist that would surprise most people?

Shinova, indie-pop music, a Spanish band… They are so great.

What are your plans for the remainder of 2020?

Continue to promote the new album “INF3RNO”, and trying to tour next year… I hope the pandemic goes away and lets everybody enjoy live music.

How active are you on social media and where can people connect with you?
