Introducing: Adam and The Hellcats

Adam and The Hellcats are an unstoppable six-piece rock ‘n’ roll band from Bristol. The powerhouse act will release their eagerly awaited third album, 9 Lives, on Friday, 3rd October, and we caught up with founding member, frontman/guitarist, Adam Feasey, to get the lowdown on a band capable of giving any band a run for their money in a live setting.

What are the origins of Adam and The Hellcats? How long have you been playing together?

Well, this version of the band has been around since about 2018, but I’ve been doing this for around 15 years. The success really began when Cirwen (2nd lead vocals) and Steve (originally keyboard, now keytar) came along, and we started writing the first full album (CLAWS OUT 2021). Since then, things have just gone absolutely mental for us.

What should people expect when they check the band out? How would you describe Adam and The Hellcats?

The unexpected, at our core, we’re a rock n roll band, but there are so many sub-genres within that, and we don’t wanna be tied into just one. If your first time checking us out is at a live show, then just expect mayhem. We don’t care if we’re the support band; we’re gonna go right at it as if we were headlining Wembley Stadium.

How did you feel performing your first gig as a band, and how was it?!

Well, as I said, the first Adam and the Hellcats gig was a long time ago, but it was the first time I’d ever been on stage performing completely my own songs. The feeling it gives is unlike any other, and actually, in this current incarnation of the band, I find myself getting that same feeling every night!

What are you working on at the moment that people can check out?

We have our new album “9 LIVES” dropping on October 3rd with a launch show at the Thunderbolt in Bristol the same night. Some other live dates are being announced soon, too!

Regarding a similar audience, which band at the moment do you feel that you would be best suited to open for?

Absolutely Massive Wagons, both bands would bring the party every night

Excluding yourself, which new band would you like to see break out and become a success?

Not that they don’t have some success already, I’d say our mates Hollowstar, mainly because they wrote one of my favourite songs of the past decade.

What frustrates you about the music business?

That people will spend £20 plus on seeing a tribute band, but then argue about £5 to see anything up to 3 new bands.

What are your first musical memories? And what lightbulb moment made you say, “I want to do that”?

Seeing Status Quo at Warwick Castle when I was 9. When Rick Parfitt hit the first chords of ‘Caroline’ that night, I got completely taken with all things rock n roll, and that’s never changed since

What was the last gig that you attended as a fan?

It was a festival in Sheffield called Rockin’ the Bowl, headlined by the awesome Kris Barras band. Many drinks were consumed!

The album that you have in your album collection/Spotify playlist that would surprise most people?

Slipknot’s first album, I’m not so into extreme metal in general, but that album is a pure masterpiece

Everybody is a fan of something. Who or what are you a fan of?

New British music. There’s never been a better time to be a British rock fan, and more than being a musician, I’m still a fan.

What new music have you been enjoying so far this year?

Very much loving the new Those Damn Grows album ‘God Shaped Hole’. Definitely my top album of the year so far

What does the rest of 2025 hold for Adam and The Hellcats?

Just promoting the album and more shows, really, wouldn’t have it any other way!

How active are you on social media, and where can people connect with you?

Mostly active on Facebook and Instagram, and we love chatting with fans, so come over and join us !”
