Beaux Gris Gris & The Apocalypse: New Single ‘Fill Me Up’

Beaux Gris Gris & The Apocalypse are releasing their brand-new single ‘Fill Me Up’ and its ultra-energetic video. ‘Fill Me Up’ hails from their eagerly awaited album ‘Good Times End Times’ (due for release on 25th March). The band are also ecstatic to be returning to their natural habitat: live touring and performance.

Beaux Gris Gris’s piquancy, edge, and energy comes from the musical traditions that are brought together and the band’s own talents. They’re infused with influences from Greta Valenti’s upbringing, steeped in the music of Louisiana. Cornish-born Robin Davey’s Blues background includes him becoming the youngest ever inductee into the British Blues Hall of Fame. However, despite their impeccable Louisiana and blues-based musical backgrounds, they are more than happy to let their rock flag fly when called for, as it does on ‘Fill Me Up’.

“Fill Me Up is all about the live energy of Beaux Gris Gris & The Apocalypse,” says Greta, “We have all gone through a time of disappointment and frustration: we have been locked away. We are a band that thrives on stage and feeds off the energy of each other and the audience, so for the video, we wanted to just really capture all of the power that has been building up to this moment where you think you may burst.

“We have been waiting for two years to tour, to see old friends and new, and we are ready to reintroduce the world to Beaux Gris Gris… and we think this is a pretty good way to kick the door right open and get the party started!”

The studio-shot video for ‘Fill Me Up’ showcases the band’s own energy, enthusiasm, gusto and virtuosity that shines, particularly Greta Valenti’s deep, impassioned, no compromise lead vocals, Robin Davey’s almost hypnotic lead guitar riff, and scorching hot, razor-sharp solos, to say nothing of the powerful, persistent percussion from Mark Barrett on drums, the exuberant, roadhouse-style keys of Emma Jonson, underpinned by Stephen Mildwater’s deft basswork.

It’s been said that “to fully understand Beaux Gris Gris & The Apocalypse is to experience the band live, a mix of soulful songs, intense energy, and world-class award-winning musicianship.”

In more, Beau Gris Gris news, ‘Fill Me Up’ earned airplay on Radio 2’s iconic Blues Show where Huey Morgan premiered the single this week.
