Brothers In Exile: New Single – ‘Last Orders’

‘Brothers in Exile’ represents the meeting of two musical minds.

Scottish born, Stu Calder and Welsh born, Lloyd Jenkins first met in Cheltenham in 2004. They immediately connected due to their obvious passion for music and a mutual love of the Boss BE5 guitar effects pedal (for all the guitar nerds out there).

Stu and Lloyd briefly teamed up, playing in a local band, sharing the stage at local venues and even recording a studio EP together.

It was only a matter of time before these two forces to be reckoned with would reunite, pool resources and collaborate.

Whilst locked down in 2020, Stu & Lloyd connected digitally and wrote an album’s worth of material together.

The current pandemic scuppered their recording plans but they did manage to salvage two recording sessions with producer and studio owner, Tim Hamill, at sonic-one studio in Llangennech.

‘Brothers in Exile’ released their debut single, ‘Good Days’ on 21/12/20.

‘Good Days’ has it all and blends modern country with soft rock to create a spectacular track with lyrics which speak to us all. Stu also plays a blistering guitar solo showcasing his technical ability and talent.

The second track recorded was the aptly titled, ’Last Orders’, a more aggressive rock tune, based around a monster guitar riff. The track has been likened to The Undertones and Feeder.

Subject to being locked down ‘Brothers in Exile’ are scheduled to return to sonic-one studio, Llangennech, in both January and February 2021. Watch this space!
