Kerrang! “With the ability to craft their influences into a coherent album like this, SHVPES are off to a flying start” – Metal Hammer “SHVPES like to throw out the genre rule book.” – Rock Sound “Unrelenting, the occasional moments of respite only serve to enhance the brutality. They’re a force to be reckoned with” – Upset “Get ready to say hello to the next household name in rock” – Punktastic SHVPES have revealed an explosive (literally) new video for album title-track, ‘Pain. Joy. Ecstasy. Despair.’ Says SHVPES vocalist, Griffin Dickinson; “As the title-track to our debut album, we wanted the video to tie everything we’ve been working on together and really bring the album artwork to life. From the 1920’s apothecary style aesthetic to us physically drinking from the bottles on the artwork I think we’ve managed to do just that. Throughout the video you see the band sat round a table, blindfolded, playing Russian roulette with bottles marked ‘Pain’, ‘Joy’, ‘Ecstasy’ and ‘Despair’. ‘Pain. Joy. Ecstasy. Despair’ represents the emotional circle of life, it’s a statement of acceptance that we live in complete chaos and no one knows what’s coming next. We had such a great time shooting this vid because it’s just metal as fuck. I thought I was on fire after every take, but the important thing is that I wasn’t. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!” SHVPES’ will support Trivium on their 33-date European tour early 2017 SHVPES UK & Ireland appearances with Trivium Feb 11: Dublin Academy, Ireland (in support of Trivium) Feb 12: Belfast Limelight, UK (in support of Trivium) Feb 14: Birmingham Institute, UK (in support of Trivium) Feb 15: Manchester Academy, UK (in support of Trivium) Feb 16: Glasgow Barrowlands, UK (in support of Trivium) Feb 17: LondonRoundhouse, UK (in support of Trivium) Feb 18: Nottingham Rock City, UK (in support of Trivium) SHVPES festival appearances Apr 01: 2Q Festival 2017, Derby, UK June 16 – June 18: Hellfest 2017, France July 29: Fat Lip Fest 2017, Bristol, UK ‘PAIN.
