Introducing: Von Loop

Von Loop are an energetic alternative rock group from Bangor, Northern Ireland. Get to know them, below:

What are the origins of Von Loop? How long have you been playing together?

Three outta the four of us (Stevie, Logan and Andy) met in school then formed the band roughly 2012/2014. Luke later was asked to join the band in around 2014. This has been our line-up ever since!

What should be people expect when they check the band out? How would you describe Von Loop?

We bounce between two vocals styles, rap and melodic singing. We felt this was a good route to take as we were trying to separate ourselves from the rest of our peers. The songs are all pretty high when it comes to tempo, so be prepared for that. We’ve been compared to bands such as Beastie Boys, Rage Against the Machine, IDLES, Foo Fighters and more.

How did you feel performing your first gig as a band, and how was it?

It was the usual mix of nerves and booze to try and clam the nerves. Even though there was 6/7 people there, the nerves still get ya!

What are you working on at the minute that people can check out?

At the moment we are working mostly on our live set, so come and see us play live. Apart from that, we have our music up on the likes of Spotify, YouTube, etc.

Regarding a similar audience, which band at the minute do you feel Von Loop would be best suited to open for?

IDLES, Queens of the Stone Age are the first two that come to mind.

Everybody is a fan of something, who or what are you a fan of?

We are big fans of wrestling, comics and Magic the Gathering.

What is the last gig you attended as a fan?

My Chemic Romance, Queens of the Stone Age. Up coming gigs being attended are LCD Sound System and IDLES in Dublin!

How active are you on social media and where can people connect with you?

We are on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (or whatever it’s called now) – basically any social media platform. And as mentioned before, Spotify and YouTube!
