What are the origins of Shellshock Lullaby, and how long have you been playing together?
Shellshock Lullaby was formed in 2011 in Butte, Montana. Over the years, our lineup has evolved, but we’ve been together as the current group for a while now, blending our unique musical backgrounds to create our sound.
What should people expect when they check the band out? How would you describe Shellshock Lullaby?
When you check us out, expect a lively mix of 90s grunge energy with a modern pop-punk twist. We aim to create fun and relatable music that reflects the highs and lows of life, all while being honest and energetic.
How did you feel performing your first gig as a band, and how was it?!
Our first gig was a mix of excitement and nerves! The energy from the crowd was exhilarating, and it felt amazing to share our music for the first time. It solidified our passion for performing.
What are you working on at the moment that people can check out?
We recently released our latest single, “Songs in the Movies,” on May 25, 2025. We’re currently rehearsing to return to the stage and are in the process of writing new music for our fans to enjoy.
In terms of a similar audience, which band out there at the minute do you feel Shellshock Lullaby would be best suited to open for?
We feel we would be a great fit to open for bands like Bilmuri or Amber Pacific, as our sound resonates with their audience and shares a similar energy.
Excluding yourself, which new band would you like to see break out and become a success?
We’re really rooting for emerging bands in the pop punk scene, especially those bringing fresh sounds and perspectives. It’s exciting to see new talent rise!
What frustrates you about the music business?
One of the biggest frustrations can be the challenges of gaining visibility and support as an independent band. It’s tough to navigate the industry, but we’re grateful for platforms that help promote independent music.
What are your first musical memories? And what was the lightbulb moment that made you go “I want to do that”?
Our first musical memories vary, but many of us recall jamming to our favorite bands in our teens. The lightbulb moment often came when we realized the power of music to connect people and express emotions.
What was the last gig that you attended as a fan?
We love catching live shows, but since our last gig was in 2021, we’re looking forward to attending more concerts as fans once we’re back on stage.
What current social issue are you particularly passionate about?
We’re passionate about mental health awareness. Our music often reflects the struggles and triumphs of life, and we believe it’s essential to support conversations around mental health.
The album that you have in your album collection/Spotify playlist that would surprise most people?
You might be surprised to find some classic pop or even country albums in our playlists! We appreciate all genres for their storytelling and creativity.
Everybody is a fan of something. Who or what are you a fan of?
We are huge fans of the music that inspires us, especially bands like Green Day and Nirvana. We also enjoy a variety of other music genres and artists.
What new music have you been enjoying so far this year?
We’ve been exploring new releases in the punk and alternative scenes, and we’re always on the lookout for exciting sounds that resonate with us.
What does the remainder of 2025 hold for Shellshock Lullaby?
In 2025, we’re looking forward to more music releases, live shows, and hopefully hitting the road for a tour. We can’t wait to connect with our fans in person!
