Fireheart have released “Back to the Truth”, the first single from the band’s forthcoming debut album. Recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Florence Black at Blackline Studios in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, the single begins a new chapter for Fireheart in which personal stories, music and visual art combine as parts of a larger whole. For this first chapter, the story belongs to rhythm guitarist Kev Baker.
“Back to the Truth” is a deeply personal song about mental struggle, isolation and self-doubt, but ultimately it is a positive song about resilience, and the decision to keep showing up. Beginning from a place of exhaustion and hopelessness, the song explores what happens when an internal struggle becomes difficult to escape: withdrawing from those around you, losing sight of yourself and allowing doubt to become louder than everything else. But beneath that darkness, something remains.
“Back to the Truth” follows the gradual journey towards recognising that your worst day does not define who you are. Scars and difficult experiences can become part of your story without becoming your identity. The song deliberately avoids presenting recovery as one dramatic breakthrough. Sometimes progress is simply one breath followed by two steps. Sometimes it means moving forward while still shaking. Sometimes it means finally speaking out. At its heart is a choice: to continue, to be honest with yourself and to keep showing up, even when doing so is difficult. Knocked down. Not out.

That story continues through the single’s artwork, created as the first piece of a wider visual concept that will unfold across Fireheart’s debut album release campaign. Each band member has a chosen heart colour and word that best represents them. Kev’s heart colour is blue and his chosen word is ‘Truth’.
A fragmented, mirrored face appears within the artwork, drawing particular attention to the eye. Inspired by the symbolism of the all-seeing eye and its association with truth, it represents self-reflection, looking inward and being honest about what you find. The mirrored surface is cracked, but those imperfections are not hidden. Instead, the cracks help form the image itself, reflecting one of the song’s central ideas: accepting that we are imperfect while recognising that we can rebuild ourselves into something beautiful.
Alongside the fractured reflection is a dove silhouetted against a brilliant circle of light.
The light represents truth and clarity, the illumination that comes through honesty. The dove represents the peace that can be found through that truth, as well as the promise to yourself to keep moving forward and keep showing up. Together, the imagery traces the same journey as the song: from fracture towards rebuilding, darkness towards light, and doubt towards clarity.

“Back to the Truth” also introduces the visual concept that will connect the releases from Fireheart’s debut album.
Each single will reveal an individual section of the heart, with its own colour, imagery and meaning. Viewed separately, every piece tells its own story; brought together, they form something larger.
That idea mirrors the album itself, individual experiences and personal stories brought together through Fireheart.

The single also provides the first glimpse of the sound created with Florence Black at Blackline Studios, where Fireheart’s debut album was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered. “Back to the Truth” establishes the album’s intent from the beginning: honest songs rooted in real experiences and the things that can be hardest to say out loud. It isn’t about pretending everything becomes easy. It is about finding the strength to take the next step.
For the first chapter, the colour is BLUE.
The story is KEV’S.
The word is TRUTH.
