Introducing: Fall of Saturn

From the heart of London, Fall of Saturn deliver colossal riffs, commanding vocals, and razor-sharp dynamics. Now, the UK heavyweights are back with their most immersive track yet: their new single and video, Pray or Prey. Get to know Fall of Saturn, below

What are the origins of Fall of Saturn, and how long have you been playing together?

Fall of Saturn was conceived in the summer of 2019 by Val (drums) and Will (bass), who shared a vision of creating a new groove metal project. In autumn 2019, guitarist Linas joined the project, and Ernesto completed the lineup in early 2022. So, we’ve been playing together for roughly three and a half years now.

What should people expect when they check the band out? How would you describe Fall of Saturn?

Our sound is definitely rooted in the late ’90s/early 2000s and combines thrash metal elements with heavy metalcore breakdowns. It’s hard to describe ourselves because our diverse musical backgrounds have shaped our style. But if we had to, I’d say: “Pantera meets Killswitch Engage.”

How did you feel performing your first gig as a band, and how was it?!

It was an absolute blast—especially since it was unexpected! The current lineup had only been together for six months, and we weren’t really planning to play live yet. But then a promoter reached out, we looked at each other and said, “Let’s do it!” We had so much fun.

What are you working on at the moment that people can check out?

We’re releasing our new single along with a cinematic video now. Plus, we’ve got two more songs on the way—so stay tuned, there’s more coming!

For a similar audience, which band do you feel you’d be best suited to open for?

There are a lot of bands we’d love to open for! Since our sound is evolving toward a more djent direction with electronic elements, I’d say Veil of Maya or Born of Osiris would be a great fit.

Excluding yourselves, which new band would you like to see break out and become a success?

This is a tough one! Thanks to being part of the London Metal Coalition, we’ve had the chance to meet, befriend, and perform with so many amazing bands—it’s hard to choose. If I had to pick one, I personally love Nymphic. But honestly, they’re all so good!

What frustrates you about the music business?

The music business has really become a rigged game, especially for emerging bands. Playing live gigs alone isn’t enough to support ourselves, and gaining visibility or recognition is incredibly difficult—even outside the metal scene.

What was the last gig you attended as a fan?

Roisin Murphy, Celeste, and London Grammar.

What current social issues are you particularly passionate about?

War is a huge concern. It’s unbelievable that in 2025, there are still countries fighting each other over money, power, and control. It’s a shame.

Which album in your collection or on your Spotify playlist would surprise most people?

Mezzanine – Massive Attack.

Everybody is a fan of something. Who or what are you a fan of?

[Ernesto] I’m a software developer, so I love anything related to technology and science—and so does Val (our drummer). We’re basically metal geeks.

What new music have you been enjoying so far this year?

Some new discoveries this year include Oceans Ate Alaska and a local band, Dygora, who we recently had the pleasure of sharing the stage with.

What does the rest of 2025 hold for Fall of Saturn?

We’re planning to take a short break from live shows to focus on writing new material and exploring new songwriting approaches. But we’ll be back soon—promise!

How active are you on social media, and where can people connect with you?

To be completely honest, we’re not super active on social media. That said, we do share important updates about gigs and new releases. You can find us on Facebook: Fall of Saturn and Instagram: @fallofsaturn. We also have an official website: fallofsaturn.com.
