Iconic guitarist and vocalist Pepper Keenan has returned to the fold, with No Cross No Crown arriving as C.O.C.’s first studio album to feature Keenan since 2005’s In the Arms of God. No Cross No Crown somehow sounds as though no time has passed between 2005’s In The Arms Of God and today. Recording in North Carolina with longtime producer John Custer, C.O.C. cut No Cross No Crown in about forty days over the course of a year. Some of the new jams sound like they could’ve easily appeared on Wiseblood or Deliverance, two of C.O.C.’s most revered records. Beefy Southern stompers like ‘The Luddite’, ‘Little Man’ and ‘Forgive Me’ are interspersed with melancholy guitar interludes like ‘No Cross’, ‘Matre’s Diem’ and ‘Sacred Isolation’ – just like Sabbath used to do in the ’70s. Widely admired as one of the most ludicrously thunderous and entertaining live bands on the planet, Orange Goblin have paid their dues and earned the right to be regarded as a heavy metal institution. The band‘s last two albums, A Eulogy For The Damned (2012) and Back From The Abyss (2014) have further cemented their reputation and taken their popularity to new heights, aided by high profile festival slots all over the world. Since the release of Back From The Abyss, the band‘s feet have barely touched the ground: a full European tour with doom legends Saint Vitus, a full US trek with Down, headline shows across Europe and triumphant appearances at Download, Bloodstock, Ozzfest, Wacken Open Air and many more. Nominated for ’Best British Band‘ at last year‘s Metal Hammer Golden Gods ceremony, at which they also performed, Orange Goblin have never been more in demand. The legendary British rock band holed up at Orgone Studios with producer Jaime Gomez Arellano (Ghost, Grave Pleasures, Paradise Lost, Cathedral) to create their latest opus, titled The Wolf Bites Back. The resulting nine track album will be the band’s ninth studio release and will be released via Candlelight/Spinefarm Records worldwide in June. Orange Goblin’s upcoming tour dates read as follows: Sat 16 Jun – Stone Free Festival, o2, London, UK Sat 23 Jun – Hellfest, Clisson, FR Sat 28 Jul – Rock Im Wald Festival, Michelau, DE Sat 04 Aug – Lake On Fire Festival, Waldhausen, AT Sat 11 Aug – Alcatraz Metal Festival, Kortrijk, BE Sat 18 Aug – Summer Breeze Festival, Dinkelsbuhl, DE Sat 08 Sep – Summer Dying Loud Festival, Aleksandrow Lodzki, PL Sat 20 Oct – Into The Void Festival, Leeuwarden, NL]]>
