Jenna Leigh-Raine: New Album – ‘Bloodsand’

London-based singer-songwriter/musician Jenna Leigh-Raine is set to release her new album BLOODSAND with a special gig at HMV Oxford Street on April 17th.

Jenna says:

“Since 2016, I’ve made a new album on average every 1.5 years. It feels like therapy, to begin a new project approximately three months following the previous one being mastered. It allows me to come up for air and take off the mental clothes from the latest output. Now, I am about to release my new album BLOODSAND, on April 17th. I recorded it very differently than any of my other sixteen records. I’ve been making music since 1986. It was recorded over eighteen months and it has a punk rock meets industrial feel.

BLOODSAND is about the land, soil and energy we live on. Native American people were robbed of their land. And it seems that the world will continuously follow this horrific pattern. The message on this record says “What you do leaves a mark, even if it’s good or bad.”

The first release from BLOODSAND titled Horror Side was a look into the dark underworld – The Dark Web, The Secret Commerce. A powerful female can locate, in piercing white light, those who work, run and profit in these areas. The second release, Siren, is about this female again exposing, and fighting these dark energies.

There are some great tracks coming up on the release, such as Horror Side, Siren, and Possession. Possession is a track that features an epic electronic orchestration and sound. It is a modern nod to Love Song For A Vampire. Jessica’s Photos is the oddest fitting track, it’s a beautiful lament by a girl who is free, young, wild among wartime. I imagine it to be set in Paris. END.LESS is one of the more guitar riff-filled tracks – it’s a pretty observation, and a review of life.

I’m really proud of this record and I’ll be performing a few tracks from it at an upcoming appearance in London! At the flagship HMV London store, on April 17th at 2pm. BLOODSAND is released on the same day!

Adding to this first gig in two years I will be performing a couple of theatre gigs as a support act in August and September (info attached). I will be playing tracks from my last two albums and maybe something from BLOODSAND.”

BLOODSAND is out via a special edition double gatefold vinyl, or as a CD with an inlay poster pack! It is directly available from HMV Oxford Street from April 17th! You can also order through the Bandcamp store: Bandcamp: https://jennaleigh-raine.bandcamp.com/
