Spike asks someone in the front row if they want his drink; he hands it to them with a word of warning: “be careful – you might die!” As closing moments go, how does ‘Sweet Mary Ann’ followed by ‘7 O’Clock’ and, what else, ‘Sex Party’ sound? A glorious fifteen minute romp that reinforces the fact that The Quireboys (still) is a live force to be reckoned with. In these circumstances they were the perfect band for the occasion.
