UK alt-rock crew THE BITTER PILLS are set to release their self-titled debut album on Friday 25th September, fuelled by heavy riffs, raw intensity and relentless energy. Driven by heavy guitars, pounding drums and infectious energy, Bad Monday combines big riffs with a rougher, more immediate edge. The track captures the intensity of the band’s live performances while retaining the thoughtful songwriting running throughout the album.
Formed in Eastbourne by guitarist and vocalist Nico Sc’erri, THE BITTER PILLS took their final shape when drummer Chris Cooper joined in 2023. Although relatively new, the pair have known each other for over a decade, first meeting as teenagers and spending years writing, playing and touring together before bringing the project to life.
Drawing influence from Royal Blood, Turnstile and Nirvana, THE BITTER PILLS blend garage rock, punk and hard rock into a gritty, melodic sound driven by instinct. Having already taken their live shows across Belgium and the Netherlands, the band have built a reputation for performances focused on impact, connection and authenticity.
THE BITTER PILLS have already been championed by the rock media, with Classic Rock and Powerplay Magazine among those to have backed the band. They are also picking up wider support from rock radio, with tastemakers and media taking notice of their new material.
Recorded with producer Tim Kramer, the self-titled debut album moves from thunderous guitars and driving rhythms to more emotional and reflective moments. Speaking about the album, the band said: “The album is a bold, riff-heavy statement — massive guitars, thunderous drums and sharp-edged lyrics throughout. Years in the making, we refused to rush it, crafting a record with no filler — every track stands tall.”
With the debut album on the way, THE BITTER PILLS are ready to introduce their sound to a wider audience with a record built on volume, honesty and a decade of shared passion for rock music.
