UK metallers FAIL THE ENEMY return with a heavier, synth-driven sound on their engrossing new single and video, Drowning Deep, out now. Watch the video above. Listen to the band on Spotify here. The track is lifted from their upcoming EP, Sandcastles, arriving on Friday 9th October.
Since reforming in 2024, the three-piece have been rebuilding their sound from the ground up, fusing modern metalcore, anthemic rock, and 80s-inspired synth textures. Their new music has already picked up radio airplay from Kerrang! Radio, TotalRock, and Amazing Radio, alongside support with Powerplay Magazine.
Drawing influence from acts like Being As An Ocean, Bad Omens, and Depeche Mode, the band’s new material explores themes of mental health, love, loss, and personal endurance. The upcoming EP has been in development for around three years, representing the band’s most refined vision to date. Speaking on the release, the band state: “We’re very excited about this release, and we’re really proud of what we’ve created. The EP reflects the hardships we’ve faced since disbanding in 2019 and the journey it’s taken to get back to where we are now. This is our strongest work to date, and we’re only just getting started.”
Sandcastles marks a definitive turning point for FAIL THE ENEMY, reflecting on past setbacks while establishing a bold vision for the future.
