L.A. Edwards join Lucinda Williams on tour and release new single “Good Luck”

Luke Edwards and his band of brothers return with new single “Good Luck” ahead of European tour with Lucinda Williams next week.

The Californian family band have just finished recording their fourth record titled “Pie Town” to be released July 5th 2024. Luke describes the band’s sound as “expansive, harmonious folk-rock” akin to Ryan Adams, The War On Drugs or The National.

Luke Edwards states “Pie Town is the next step down the Heartland trail for us – it’s a collection of songs about my experiences over the past few years addressing the reticence to “grow up” and all the bulls**t that comes with that loss of innocence. Recorded here in Seattle, it reflects our most expansive and explorative instrumentation. I’m excited for this album, stay young my friends.”

The new single “Good Luck” is a reflection on recent difficult times with family. “This song is a go-f*** yourself song about someone you still care about” states Luke. “There’s so few lyrics in it, I was hoping to let the melody do the talking and to allow space for interpretation for the listener. But for me, it’s about when you say, “Good Luck with that” as you wave goodbye and close the door.”

L.A. Edwards returned to the studio after completing the sold out European tour with American band Rival Sons at the end of last year. Recording in Road End Studio in Seattle, the band spent a month in the studio tracking, after two months writing and demoing while on the road (an achievement when you know that Luke and his brothers travel with the whole family on the tourbus, including Luke’s siblings, five children and wife Starr who manages the family business while on the road). The loving chaos of a family travelling band and the laid back down to earth attitude have garnered the band many friends. Including The White Buffalo who writes about L.A. Edwards: “Beautifully crafted songs with harmonies only brotherhood and blood can achieve. Sonically weaving space and musicality into anthemic compositions that hit you in the heart. Somewhere between heartland and rock, Luke is always evolving with an open mind to new shapes and sounds, with a propensity for melody.”

Luke and his brothers are always searching for different ways to find harmonies and expand their musical boundaries. Their bohemian lifestyle has given L.A. Edwards a voice and story that is authentic, powerful, and instantly endearing. Proteges of the Tom Petty camp, a radio DJ described the band’s sound as, “Eagles-esque brothers harmony, Stonesy guitar weaving, the melancholy of Jackson Browne, and the working-class optimism of Petty himself.” (88.5FM)

The new album will be released July 5th 2024 worldwide by Bitchin’ Music Group via The Orchard and Mars Label Group in Europe. Pre-save / Pre-order the album here: https://linktr.ee/l.a.edwards
