Getting to know Finnish musician Tomi Perrakoski:
What are the origins of the band, and how long have you been playing together?
This is my solo project. I do this by myself, but I also have bands: Magnadur, Morbid Children, and Houruva!
What should people expect when they check your music out?
The true dedication to metal music and the ultimate drive to just make music I love to do straight from the heart!
How did you feel performing your first gig as a band, and how was it?
I have done live gigs only on YouTube and Instagram so far, but later I will start performing live also! Stay tuned!
What are you working on at the moment that people can check out?
I have singles and albums coming to all my projects and bands, Magnadur, Morbid Children, and my solo project (Tomi Perrakoski), all have albums coming Summer/25 and new singles also to Houruva and all projects! They are available on all streaming platforms
In terms of a similar audience, which band out there at the minute do you feel you would be best suited to open for?
I have heard that Dimmu Borgir and Amon Amarth sound somewhat similar to my sound, also we have so many elements from Göteborg metal also!
Excluding yourself, which new band would you like to see break out and become a success?
There are so many great bands, but my personal favorite, I would say, is Carchosa, a Swedish band that has great potential!!
What frustrates you about the music business?
I guess it’s that bigger record labels rule the industry, and the smaller bands don’t get heard so much!
What are your first musical memories? And what was the lightbulb moment that made you go “I want to do that”?
The first time I listened to metal music in the 1980s, I think it was the Wasp album, and it blew my mind! And later, the dream came true that I could also make albums and songs!
What was the last gig that you attended as a fan?
It was just a week ago I went to see Hiraes, Moonspell, and Dark Tranquillity, and it was so crazy good!
What current social issue are you particularly passionate about?
I am a nature lover and love hiking, so nature is my big thing! I also go to the gym. (Former Powerlifter and strongman)
The album that you have in your album collection/Spotify playlist that would surprise most people?
Moonhealer from Job for A Cowboy!
Everybody is a fan of something. Who or what are you a fan of?
I am a fan of the NHL and movies!
What new music have you been enjoying so far this year?
Rivers of Nihil, Benediction, and Arch Enemy, those are the best ones for me so far!
What does 2025 hold for you?
Made a record deal (Magnadur) and made amazing music for all my projects! And 2025 brings more big things as I have practised so much and am getting better all the time!
