Emerging South Coast UK trio iAtlas announce their dynamic debut EP, Beyond The New Horizon, set for release on Friday 11th September, alongside the release of their striking new single and video, 3iAtlas, which is out now. What are the origins of iAtlas, and how long have you been playing together?
iAtlas came about by appreciating hard-core progressive alternative music compositions and how they could alter pre concepts towards healing Earth, ultimately to improve and connect with natural regenerative forces. iAtlas near to completion, almost 1 year incarnate on this planet
What should people expect when they check the band out?
Sit back, stand up, shake your head, enjoy the sound and its message, and become warriors for iAtlas is what we expect of you humans.
How would you describe yourself?
iAtlas are three persons, conduits for a higher force to channel and manifest the 50hz to 20khz in music for projection into the hearts and minds of sentient beings. We may appear human, but under the mask our cosmic roots are undeniably otherworldly and real.
How did you feel performing your first gig as a band, and how was it?!
Nothing major to report here of iAtlas in England to date. The promotion campaign by video and song production is current, and circumstances likely to change.
What are you working on at the minute that people can check out?
Working on an EP featuring 4 new songs and is due for release in September of this year.
Regarding a similar audience, which band at the minute do you feel that you would be best suited to open for?
Tremonti, with their tremendous strength of rhythm and passion in their vocals, is considered by Ondy of iAtlas to complement this fine group as a support act.
Excluding yourself, which new band would you like to see break out and become a success?
The band Versus, with their new single ‘This is Everything’, provides an example of how this band will progress in the metal genre. The lead singer has emotion and a voice akin to Lemmy with some Skrillex thrown in for good measure. An excellent, engaging band and brilliantly structured music composition.
What frustrates you about the music business?
The business is so massive and understandably it will focus upon those acts that are consistent and can bring in the money. This inevitably holds back new acts that have yet to mature, requiring financial input and promotion to make a mark. This part of the business is frustrating, filters out the chaff, but without it there would be no music business.
What are your first musical memories? And what lightbulb moment made you say “I want to do that”?
For Dougy, the first eureka moment was finding and listening to Led Zeppelin 2 on vinyl at an impressionable age and, over time, appreciating the production genius that is Jimmy Page. In a similar fashion, we have all been inspired by many fantastic songwriters, and it is these that have shaped our being to produce our best music to date.
What was the last gig that you attended as a fan?
For Dougy, that would be Gary Newman at Brighton Centre and The Scorpions in Bucharest, front stage. Both inspirational performances.
What current social issues are you particularly passionate about?
The loss of our arable food-providing lands, our countryside and wild places by development, making us become more dependent upon countries outside the UK, incidentally increasing our carbon footprint by imports. We should be an independent nation but cannot escape the influence of non-UK produce, which makes us weak and vulnerable.
The album that you have in your album collection/Spotify playlist that would surprise most people?
The Black and White album by The Stranglers. The song ‘Curfew’ is played all the time.
Everybody is a fan of something, who or what are you a fan of?
Chris Packham’s no-nonsense attitude towards ecocide and wildlife crime; he may be considered annoying by some, but hey, if he pisses people off the right people, then there’s no love lost.
What new music have you enjoyed so far this year?
Tropic Gold, a UK band, and Firsun
What does the rest of 2026 hold for you?
Live performances and production of new songs after our debut EP release this coming September 26
