Following the two strong studio releases, tours with King King and Gun, and a main stage appearance at the very last Ramblin’ Man Festival, AUSTIN GOLD were causing a stir. Then Covid frakked the world but the guys remained agile and adapted and hunkered down to write and record, Those City Lights.

Those City Lights was their third studio album release, following on from their debut ‘Before Dark Clouds’ (2017) and the acclaimed self-titled mini-album ‘Austin Gold’ (2019). It was their first release under new label TMR Rock Records. The album was their first to chart at #10 Official UK Indie Breakers Charts and at #23 of the Official UK Rock Charts. The album’s success saw the band invited to perform at established festivals, including Planet Rock’s Winters End and Steelhouse.

Mainman, David James Smith, spoke about this new single, “It’s about the internal voice of someone fighting mass conformity, a declaration of determination through adversity. It has a resolute mantra ‘When it all goes down, keep going keep going… Never End‘.

Musically, it’s set to the visceral scuzzy riff and snarling vocal of the verses, enlightened briefly by the dystopian chorus chant. As with the whole theme of the album, it sees a glimmer of hope which is confirmed through the unified, fist throwing outro. It’s a song that has resonated with our fanbase and beyond, so its fitting that it deserves a video and single release.”

Of the tour with The Karma Effect, David said, “We’ve enjoyed seeing the recent growth and success of our brothers in The Karma Effect and we can’t wait to join them on their Promised Land tour. Rest assured; we’re going to bring our A-Game every night. It’s going to be one hell of a run, that we hope people will love!”
