Black Eyed Sons – New Video “Autumn Reigns” Featuring Charlie Starr of Blackberry Smoke

Black Eyed Sons have released the official video for their deeply personal new track, “Autumn Reigns,” featuring Charlie Starr of Blackberry Smoke.

Written by Guy Griffin, the song holds special significance, inspired by the tragic loss of his brother Daniel in late 2021.

Guy Griffin says:

“Written as if by the person who’s gone for the people left behind, its lyrics deal with loss, grief and the passage of time, trying to make sense of life after tragedy…something we all go through at some point in our lives. A sad subject but I hope the song’s uplifting… that’s how I’d like it to be heard.

It was an honour to have Charlie Starr of BlackBerry Smoke with us on the song, his vocal performance was amazing and it was fun filming the vid outside by the famous ‘Hard Days Night’ staircase at Hammersmith Odeon. Thanks Charlie

Thanks also to Chip Z’Nuff on bass. And many thanks to Alan Clayton of The Dirty Strangers for the loan of Keith Richards’ Gibson Hummingbird, one of the acoustics that you’ll see me playing in the video. It’s the guitar he wrote and recorded Wild Horses on and was gifted to him by Gram Parsons. It’s also all over ‘Exile on Main Street’.

It’s fitting that it’s in the video for this tune as my brother was a good friend of Alan’s and also a huge Stones fan (especially Keef!). Some of my fondest memories are from Stones shows we attended together.

This one’s for you Dan,
We all miss you x”

The video was filmed outside the legendary Hammersmith Odeon, a location steeped in rock history, and features a touching performance that perfectly matches the song’s heartfelt message.
