The Fires Below: New Video ‘Worth’

Formidable Londoners, THE FIRES BELOW, stride forward with the release of their thunderous new EP, Thorns, which arrives on Friday 7th June. The Brit riff slayers have also released their blistering new single and video, Worth, out now.

Formed in 2022, and comprised of Smithy (Vocals, Guitar), Si (Bass), Del (Drums), and Sam (Guitar), THE FIRES BELOW draw from the dynamism and edge of punk rock, the ferocity of metal, the groove and vibe of stoner, and the technical guile of djent. The result is a sound that is hugely compelling and engulfing.

The quartet dropped their fiery debut EP, Masquerade, last year and it marked the band’s arrival in fine style gathering extensive reviews, widespread radio play, and significant critical acclaim.

THE FIRES BELOW now kick on further with their savage new EP, Thorns, which manages to rise above the band’s striking debut. Consisting of five slabs of appealing heavy rock that hammer, shift and beat their way into your senses, the band have certainly delivered on every level. Vocalist and Guitarist Smithy remarks about the new record: “With more experience, we’ve pushed ourselves creatively. This EP really plays to our strengths that we discovered playing live. We mix elements of punk, desert rock, alt-metal and djent for an intense yet melodic cocktail of riffs and emotion.”

The EP is definitely an intense affair and is sure to raise the bar for the much-rated riff merchants. With live performances on the way and a debut album in the works, THE FIRES BELOW are ready to make their mark.
