Belfast alt-heavy rock trio Triggertone release anti-war video

Belfast alt-heavy rock trio Triggertone have announced their new 4-track EP, “Bombs Away,” set for release on 2nd October 2026.

The band have also released the anti-war title track, “Bombs Away,” alongside its official music video, offering the first full statement from their newly solidified three-piece lineup and capturing their raw, live-tested energy with renewed focus and intent.

Recorded at Manor Park Studio with renowned producer Neal Calderwood, whose credits include The Answer, Fighting With Fire, Mojo Fury, LaFaro and General Fiasco, Bombs Away documents a band turning heavy riffs, melodic hooks and real-world frustration into a concentrated, defiant body of work.

For an outfit that has steadily earned respect across the competitive Irish alternative circuit, including national radio play and a semi-final place in Bloodstock’s Metal 2 the Masses, the new EP feels less like a standard release and more like a clear validation of Triggertone’s purpose.

Conceptually, “Bombs Away” is an honest exercise in collective identity, mapping personal psychological struggles alongside the intense frustrations of a changing global environment. Across four tracks, the EP moves through anti-authoritarian pressure, narrative suspense, depression, self-worth and anti-war defiance.

At their core, Triggertone remain dedicated to the true essence of garage rock music: melody, lyrics and the raw humanity of a band playing together in a room. In a landscape of rigid sub-genres and the rise of AI, the trio offer something direct and human: an immediate rock sound built to bring human beings together.

As they push forward with fresh momentum into 2026 and beyond, Triggertone prove that whatever troubles surround you, there is still a sanctuary of sound to be found within the maelstrom.

‘Bombs Away’ is released 2nd October 2026.
