Brighton’s CREEPING JEAN perform in THE ROLLING STONES’ new video for “In The Stars”

Brighton-based indie-rock band CREEPING JEAN have been picked to appear in THE ROLLING STONES’ new video for “In The Stars,”

The Rolling Stones announced their highly anticipated new studio album Foreign Tongues earlier this month — the follow-up to the Grammy Award-winning Hackney Diamonds, which topped charts worldwide and achieved multi-platinum success. The album was introduced by lead single “In The Stars,” released digitally on 5th May alongside opening track “Rough and Twisted.” The legendary band have released the video for the upbeat and infectious lead single from their newly released studio album Foreign Tongues.

Directed by Francois Rousselet, whose credits include work with Nike, Diesel, Pharrell Williams, and on the Stones’ ‘Angry’ from Hackney Diamonds and “Ride ‘Em On Down,” from Blue & Lonesome, the new video features acclaimed actress Odessa A’zion (Marty Supreme, I Love LA) as well as Brighton band Creeping Jean. The video, which was created by Deep Voodoo using groundbreaking deepfake technology, models the Stones from the 70’s performing “In The Stars” amongst musicians, singers, dancers from different eras, different cultures and subcultures.

On working with The Rolling Stones, Odessa A’zion said “Are you kidding me? It’s my dream. The first record that I ever got that I listened to from start to finish was Tattoo You. I’m obsessed with the Rolling Stones. This is in my bucket list for sure.”

Giving ragged rock ‘n’ roll a fresh twist for sweaty club floors and festival stages – Creeping Jean are used to doing everything on a shoe-string. Financing their releases from Olly’s vintage clothes shop in Brighton, and holding down day jobs to make ends meet. Filming for The Rolling Stones video in London last month was, as guitarist Rod Bourganos explains: “a mind-blowing experience.”

Drummer Nick Buttermilk leads the host of drummers in the clip and singer Olly Tooze can be seen with Odessa A’zion below. The band caught up with Rolling Stone Magazine France yesterday at their sold out Paris show for Supersonic’s Block Party to talk about the experience https://www.rollingstone.fr/exclu-creeping-jean-le-groupe-de-brighton-embarque-dans-in-the-stars-le-nouveau-clip-des-rolling-stones/

THE ROLLING STONES will release FOREIGN TONGUES on 10th July 2026 via Polydor/Universal Music. The album features standout performances from Jagger, Richards and Wood, alongside core collaborators Darryl Jones, Matt Clifford and Steve Jordan. It also includes a special appearance from Charlie Watts, captured during one of his final recording sessions before his passing in 2021. Additional contributions come from an impressive line-up of guest artists including Steve Winwood, Paul McCartney, The Cure’s Robert Smith and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

About Creeping Jean
Brighton indie-rock outfit Creeping Jean fuse fuzz-drenched garage grit with vintage swagger and anthemic hooks. An international cast of musicians rooted on the South Coast, the five-piece have built a reputation for explosive live shows, sharp songwriting and a charismatic, sharply dressed aesthetic that channels the spirit of the ’60s and ’70s without leaning on nostalgia.
“There’s a bespoke feel to the five-piece’s sartorially minded rock, with muscular nods to Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys and Queens Of The Stone Age.” — Classic Rock

The band funded their second album Business Is Dead — inspired by the trials and frustrations of running a shop, the death of the high street, and the grind of making ends meet as an upcoming band — through selling vintage clothes. Growing a loyal grassroots following city by city, they’ve toured with Rival Sons and The Sheepdogs, and earned a personal endorsement from Jimmy Page, who came out to see them live and praised the band’s chemistry.

Earlier this year Creeping Jean released “Supercharger,” a punchy, pissed-off heavier number that has fast become a fan favourite. Last year they put out a Record Store Day 7″ featuring the single “Spice Rack” alongside Live Business At The Barn — a live session featuring a cover of Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love.”

Catch Creeping Jean this week in Paris at Supersonic Blockparty festival then at The Great Escape, Brighton. The band will also play Download, Truck Festival, Tramlines and Kendall Calling this summer. With a growing reputation for straight-up no frills live chaos and a growing raft of live endorsements not only from Mick Ronson’s family, Ray Davies (The Kinks) and from Jimmy Page himself, surely the band won’t be basing their income on selling pairs of second-hand converse and relying on Rod’s day job for long…
