Legendary USA southern rock ‘n’ rollers Preacher Stone are excited to release the strutting, telling new single and video ‘Old Joe’, lifted off the highly acclaimed new album ‘By The Horns’ out now on CD/digital download/vinyl direct from the band HERE.
Ronnie Riddle, the engaging and charismatic frontman, tells the tale of a song that resonates with an impactful meaning “It’s a ghost story about a local folklore figure who used to walk the streets everyday that I would see. He would buy two fifths of whiskey and stroll from one side of town to the other and people swear that he is still seen today – he was a war veteran, very much part of the fabric of the town. There were far too many men of a generation who returned from war, many had mental health issues but went back to work. Others never got the welcome home and thanks for their service that they deserved and fell on hard times where more could have been done to support them…sadly that still happens to this day across the world.”
Opening up on the overarching story behind their sixth album, “As cliché as it is, we literally grabbed this one by the horns as we have been through a lot of personal turmoil, angst and grief alongside incredible highs over recent years. We’ve 100% unapologetically made the type of rock ‘n’ roll record that we grew up listening to in the 70’s, it rocks from the off and we rode it like we stole it.”

The 9 track collection was recorded at the legendary Gat3 Studios in Charlotte North Carolina, produced and engineered by the multiple Grammy winning Glenn Tabor (Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Kid Rock) and has garnered stellar reviews and new fans alike; “Quality southern rock, rich in quality” MetalTalk, “Defiant, proud, and unshakably authentic.” Maximum Volume Music, “A masterclass in how to craft a classic rock album” Rockposer, “A statement of perseverance, brotherhood, and the joy of playing music that matters, a must-listen” Jace Media, “Best album to date, no exception – and that’s no Bull.” Fabrications HQ

Kicking boots out of North Carolina USA, the band’s high-octane, 200 proof, rock-n-roll guitar-driven songs about the common man with heart-wrenching smoky bar frequenting tales and the swagger of their live performances have earned them a legion of faithful fans known as “The Congregation”. Having endeavoured through adversity in the past, alongside Ronnie the brotherhood of the band is steeped in musical heritage with Ben Robinson (guitar), Darrell Whitt (guitar) Jim Bolt (bass), and Wyatt (drums). Previously their song ‘Not Today’ was featured on two seasons of the hit TV series Sons of Anarchy. Lengthy tours include across the USA, UK and Europe sharing stages with legendary household names such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Deep Purple and more to rapturous acclaim from fans and critics alike with their recent roof-raising set at Planet Rock Winter’s End “The real deal – absolutely nailed it last night with their own brand of infectious rock ‘n’ roll.” Paul Anthony Planet Rock Radio.

Whilst Preacher Stone are rooted in southern rock history and authenticity they assure that they’re a band that continues to strike forward through all that life throws at them. “We really hope those that listen feel the love and emotion that went into this record and that’s going to come across live even more so. We play and write for our friends and fans first and foremost and while change is inevitable, we’ve got the same attitude that never will and you can count on that.”
