Yorkshire bands know a thing or two about really good riffs. From Bring Me The Horizon to Def Leppard, and While She Sleeps to Paradise Lost, quality riffs have been coming from “God’s Own County” for decades. Upholding this most noble of traditions are Leeds alt-rockers FOXHAUNT. Having taken their first steps towards a heavier sound on recent single The Daylight Between Us, FOXHAUNT have discovered that they can crank it up with some very impressive results.
Which brings us nicely to their brand new single, aptly titled A New Beginning. With an opening riff worthy of any of their fellow Yorkshire natives and an arena sized chorus as just two of the highlights, A New Beginning grabs the listener from the opening bar and takes them on a seriously enjoyable musical ride.
More on this in a moment, but right now we invite you to stream A New Beginning on your streaming platform of choice.

FOXHAUNT have collectively commented on the shift that their new single brings:
“”A New Beginning” marks a powerful turning point for us — both thematically and sonically. The song explores the journey of reclaiming one’s identity and freedom after being entangled in a toxic, manipulative dynamic. It’s about seeing through deception, processing emotional fallout, and ultimately choosing to start over. At its core, it’s a narrative of self-empowerment — of letting go of the past and stepping into a new chapter with clarity and purpose.
From a musical standpoint, this release represents a significant evolution for us as a band. We leaned into a heavier, more eclectic sound that reflects where we are creatively. This track felt like the ideal way to introduce that shift — darker, more dynamic, and unapologetically bold.
writing process pushed us further than anything we’ve done before. We deliberately stepped outside of our comfort zone, experimenting with new sounds and chord progressions. Vocally, we drew inspiration from artists like Bad Omens and Bring Me The Horizon, aiming to craft melodies that are both haunting and hook-driven. To support that, we dropped our tuning — allowing the vocals to soar above a thicker, more aggressive low end. The result is a sound that feels fresh but still unmistakably us.”
A New Beginning is a fine demonstration of a band refining their skills, taking the next step up which they have been doing all year. Whether it is selling out The Key Club in Leeds, making the final round of Kerrang Radio’s “The Deal” competition, or getting their first attention from national rock media like Kerrang, 2025 has been a very good year for FOXHAUNT, and they are nowhere near done yet.
A New Beginning is the follow up to FOXHAUNT’s previously mentioned Spring single, The Daylight Between Us, which features Rebekah Kirk of UK metal act Sixth Wonder on guest vocals. You can check out the video for The Daylight Between Us below:
