THEIA shine the spotlight on diabetes with the release of ‘There’s A Boy’

With festival appearances and a second run supporting Magnum fast approaching, THEIA are excited to release ‘There’s A Boy’ on 17th August 2022. Although technically already released, THEIA wanted to give special attention to ‘There’s A Boy’ as it highlights a plight which often gets overlooked; many people see diabetes as a disease which affects those who are aging or overweight, but that is not the case for those with Type 1 Diabetes. Taking a step away from the upbeat tracks that have already been released, ‘There’s A Boy’ is an emotive, tender ballad in which vocalist and songwriter Kyle sends a message to his younger self about his struggle with being a type 1 diabetic. Kyle says, “If I’d been able to get through to that child and tell them ‘You’re okay. Your parents are right, the doctors and nurses are right,’ then maybe I wouldn’t have put so much strain on the people around me growing up.”

‘There’s A Boy’ will be the third track taken from their recent EP ‘The Day’ which was released on WDFD Records and follows ‘Fire’ and ‘The Day’ which both received rave reviews. The accompanying video will premiere on THEIA’s YouTube channel at 7.30pm BST, a reminder can be set by clicking here

Following the departure of bassist Paul Edwards in 2021, the Lamley brothers took this blow and flipped it on its head, using it as a catalyst for change and re-imagining the way they would work as a band. The new musical style reflects the maturity of the duo and provides the listener with a modern alternative to traditional rock music. It’s unapologetic, forward-thinking, anxiety trapped in the strings of a guitar and serotonin released through the desperate grip of a pair of drumsticks. Accompanying the new sound is the full throttle, energetic live performances that fans have always associated with THEIA and flamboyant frontman Kyle Lamley. THEIA will be playing a number of festival dates over the coming months and will also be heading out on the road with rock legends Magnum this Autumn.

THEIA are:

Kyle Lamley Vocals/Guitar

Ash Lamley Drums
