Ryan Hamilton heralds pre-sale of his latest album, 1221, with possibly his most feel-good track of the year, ‘If Life Was A Movie’. With talk of riding off into the sunset, who could blame him after the regimented release of a single-a-month across this year.Ya know… it IS! Haha. This was just a crazy idea that I wasn’t sure would work, or even happen, at the beginning of the year. But it’s become the most successful project of my career so far. So, for it to all be coming out now as a full album, feels really great.
Obvious single related questions – if life was a movie, who’d play you and would it be a comedy or a tragedy?
Great question. It would totally be a Rom-Com. I’m a sucker for that sort of thing… and my life totally fits that genre. Haha. Who would play me? I would play myself. I’ve always wanted to be in movies. Now’s my chance!
What’s been on your lockdown watch-list, have you seen any new movies worth shouting about?
I’ve mainly watched garbage reality shows. Things like Tiger King, and Married at First Sight. I even got addicted to a Monty Don show about gardening. I wish I had a cooler answer for you.
Best movie soundtrack ever?…
That’s easy: GARDEN STATE. Don’t even try to convince me I’m wrong, or there’s something better. Because you’re wrong. Haha.
Your annual ‘Holiday Hoedown’ show has to be online again this year, but you’ve done something special this time out?…
Yes! So this year’s Hoedown is happening LIVE from the Historic Church in Stephenville, TX! Not only that, the audio from the show will be coming out as a Live Album, that you can only get with a ticket purchase to watch the show. It’s happening December 9th. Streaming worldwide. It will also double as the “1221” album release party. My favorite part: We’re charging $12.21 for tickets. See what we did there?
So, with another album about to be released into the world, what next? A Hawaiian hiatus? An acid jazz album? World tour?…
Hopefully, BACK ON TOUR! After 2 years off, I am dying to get back out there. Got some dates on the calendar for next year, and fingers crossed I can announce very soon. I want to play A LOT of shows next year.
