Review: 1968 – 'Ballads Of The Godless'

th pair of chromosomes stamped ‘made by Hendrix’. If an album could generate a ‘Signature Series Guitar’, it would be this. It’s name? ‘The Bi-Polar’. At times, the guitar is caressed into a delightful, delicate thing of beauty, at others, it’s darker, volcanically volatile hostility lurches forth. If your recipe for music includes bass driven riffs, exquisitely volatile guitars seasoned with a hint of psychedelia? Then you might be hard pressed to find a better album this year. Think not of 1968 as merely paying homage to their musical influences. Custodians of their Idol’s legacies may be a little more apt.   ‘Ballads Of The Godless’ is available now via HeviSike.
