Austin Gold. For most in attendance, they are an unknown entity, but word is that they are very worthy of this prestigious slot. Inglorious however, will be known to most of the crowd, Nathan James is the perfect frontman for such a festival, and it’s fairly certain that he will have the crowd in the palm of his hand. Having Chris Robinson Brotherhood sandwiched between Inglorious and Airbourne is a puzzling decision. If he mixes the set with some choice cuts from The Black Crowes then it might work, but if it turns into an extended Grateful Dead-esque jam then it could fall flat. The crowd will be amped for Airbourne and god help who has to follow them, in this case it’s Foreigner so expect mass sing-a-longs. The Outlaw Country Stage changes to The Blues Stage and gets underway at 12.25 with Sweet Crisis from Cambridge bringing their soulful bluesy rock ‘n’ roll to the stage. Check them out here. Elles Bailey quickly follows on, and with spellbinding new album ‘Road I Call Home’ to plug, don’t miss her. Listen to the title track of the album here. Erik Schrody is better known as Everlast, and the House Of Pain rapper will be introducing Ramblin’ Man Fair to the eclectic Tom Waits-like album; ‘Whitey Ford’s House of Pain’. Bringing the stage to a close is the incredible Beth Hart, one of the most powerful performers over the weekend, new album ‘War In My Mind’ is due late September. The Pog In The Park Stage becomes the Grooverider stage with Blind River getting it going at 12.30. Expect muscular fireworks when Cornwall’s King Creature take to the stage at 13.25. Local boys to some of us here at DGM Towers, check out ‘Lowlife’ above and get some stretches in before taking your position on the barrier. Crobot are back! Yes! New album ‘Motherbrain’ is set to be unleashed in August, and it is a beast of an album. A tad darker than previous offerings, but still full of the crunching grooves that fans know and love. Who else but Orange Goblin could close the ‘Grooverider Stage’? They clash with both Airbourne and Beth Hart so have your running shoes on! The Rising Stage wisely closes before the main headliners appear on the other stages, but you still have six hours worth of music to fill your reusable plastic cup with. From the alt-rock leanings of Salvation Jayne who get the party started at 12.35, through the smouldering guitar driven rock from Piston and Gin Annie, the more reflective sound of Matt Mitchell & The Coldhearts, to the should-be-massive-in-America sounds of headliners The Fallen State, it’s an eclectic stage for sure. If you have opted for the VIP option then you have even more clashes to contend with. First up are Rews at 12.30, followed by Jaime Kyle at 14:00, King Creature dart from their appearance on The Rising Stage to play for you VIP’rs at 15.20, before Blackwater Conspiracy close proceedings off at 16.45.
