Legendary US female metal icon Lita Ford, one of the primary goddesses of hard rock, has lined up a headline concert at London’s Islington Academy on March 12th, two days after headlining the HRH/AOR Festival in Wales on March 10th. Tickets are on sale now here Lita’s last album, ‘Time Capsule’, a very special collection of previously unheard recordings, was released in April 2016 on Steamhammer/SPV, to coincide with the publication of her soul baring autobiography, ‘Living Like A Runaway: Lita Ford, A Memoir’, documenting her journey from all girl band The Runaways to major solo successes. Classic Rock reviewed ‘Time Capsule’ in their June 2016 issue, stating “‘Time Capsule’ unearths various ‘lost’ recordings from the late 1980’s and features starry cameos including Gene Simmons, Dave Navarro and Chris Holmes. These are pop-metal anthems from a pre-grunge age of innocence…Ford has few rivals in the croaky-voiced, widescreen, ladymetal power-ballad league, as she proves with the Bonnie-Tyler sized ‘Killing Kind’ and the brooding ‘King Of The Wild Wind’, which combines a Spinal Tap-worthy title with an epic Paradise City-style blow-out finale” (Stephen Dalton). Lita’s most recent studio album, ‘Living Like A Runaway’, released in June 2012 on SPV, was widely hailed as a magnificent return to form after a 13 year plus hiatus. Metal Hammer’s Dave Ling reviewed the album in the magazine’s August 2012 issue, stating “Created with the help of friends like Nikki Sixx and Whitesnake guitarist Doug Aldrich, ‘Living Like A Runaway’ sees her single and refocused, tapping back into a signature sound that sold a million copies of her 1988 album ‘Lita’. Contempt for her former beau rains down throughout, but whilst ‘Hate’ and ‘The Mask’ crackle with negative chi, ‘Relentless’, the title track and a balladic ode to her kids called ‘Mother’ achieve a satisfying blend of empowerment and radio-friendly accessibility, that returns her mojo back to full working order.” A British born rocker who grew up on the streets of L.A., Lita Ford was a founding member of the Runaways, one of the first girl groups who unexpectedly broke down barriers in the punk era as well as the male-dominated world of rock music, causing a stir with their six rebellious releases.
