Lieder Distortion turn opera arias and classical music into rock songs. Here is a bit of background on them…
What are the origins of Lieder Distortion?
It’s a solo project and a band, we started the album 10 years ago but it’s been slow and we’ve recorded it several times…
What should people expect when they check the band out? How would you describe Lieder Distortion?
Old classical music, so the structure, etc. of the songs may sound a bit unusual for the average listener
How did you feel performing your first gig as a band, and how was it?!
We did the project live several years ago but then as jazz-rock with solos and stuff. On the record, there are none like that, unfortunately perhaps?
The new music scene is bursting at the seams at the minute with fresh talent, in what ways do you feel that a band has to stand out to build a name for themselves?
Make something that is missing
What are you working on at the minute that people can check out?
A famous classical piece of music will be the next single.
In terms of a similar audience, which band out there at the minute do you feel you would be best suited to open for?
No idea.
Excluding yourself, which new band would you like to see break out and become a success?
Matkhaverskan, they are indiefamous but deserve a bigger audience.
What are your own first musical memories? And what was the lightbulb moment that made you go “I want to do that”?
Roxette playback on Swedish TV.
What was the last gig that you attended as a fan?
Classical concert
What current social issue are you particularly passionate about?
Tik Tok
The album that you have in your album collection/Spotify playlist that would surprise most people?
Welle Erdball?
What music have you been enjoying so far this year?
Håkan Hellström and Myrkur
What does 2023 hold for Lieder Distortion?
A lot of gigs as a freelancing musician, we will see if there will be some with Lieder Distortion. If people care we will play.
