Introducing: Armagelion

What are your origins, and how long have you been playing?

The idea of ARMAGELION comes from the fascination for Sci-fi, comic books, fantasy, and pure hard rock. I’ve been around for two years, but the idea of the character came more than 10 years ago.

What should people expect when they check Armagelion out? How would you describe yourself?

Pure hard rock with a reminiscence about the 80s heavy metal bands. But I wanted to be more than a singer. Listening to Armagelion is not enough. You have to see Him. I wanted to create a culture and mythology around the character.

How did you feel performing your first gig, and how was it?!

I felt nervous because I wasn’t sure about how people were gonna react or if they would understand my idea, but it went pretty good! People’s reception has been awesome so far!

The new music scene is bursting at the seams at the minute with fresh talent, in what ways do you feel that you have to stand out to build a name for yourself?

I think that for better or worse music is not enough to stand out and for people to connect with you. Many times people listen with their eyes, so you have to give them something to look at, something that excites them, something memorable.

What are you working on at the minute that people can check out?

At the moment I have two singles released. “Welcome to the Show” and “Lie to Me”. Both songs portray the essence of my sound and the line I want to follow.
I have a new single to come, which is already done as the next preview to the upcoming album. The upcoming single is sensual and energetic. It’s called “Playing with Fire”. You can find my music on every platform.

In terms of a similar audience, which band out there at the minute do you feel you would be best suited to open for?

I think Ghost would be a great band to be their opening act. I think our styles can match. I also think my style could work to open for legends like Kiss or Alice Cooper.

Excluding yourself, which new band would you like to see break out and become a success?

Wow, tough question. I have the pleasure of meeting many very good bands that deserve the greatest success. I don’t want to miss any of them, but The Obsidian Resurrection, Hellsgate, Underking, Gorilla Wizard, and Aramis are good artists and I wish them the best.

What are your own first musical memories? And what was the lightbulb moment that made you go “I want to do that”?

The great hard rock bands of the 70s and 80s, but especially Kiss. Seeing Paul Stanley dancing and taking over the stage, and the people surrendering to him, was like a sign that this was the path he wanted to follow, with all that it entailed.

What was the last gig that you attended as a fan?

Kiss, the End of the Road tour. October 1st, 2021.

What current social issue are you particularly passionate about?

Social issues are unfortunate, but I always prefer not to talk about them. It is very controversial and people tend to have very strong opinions. As an artist, I try to stay out of that kind of controversy and keep my opinion to myself.

The album that you have in your album collection/Spotify playlist that would surprise most people?

Hard rock and heavy metal fans might be surprised that I have Kiss- “Unmasked” on my playlist. As a metal fan, you may hate it, but as a musician, you will find it very interesting. A very sophisticated pop-rock ahead of its time.

Although 2021 was another year to forget, there were some amazing new albums released, what would be your album of last year? And, what new music have you been enjoying so far this year?

Honestly, a lot of the artists I listen to didn’t release music last year, so there wasn’t a lot of new stuff for me. However, it was a very special year, for I released my debut single “Welcome to the Show”.

What does 2022 hold for you?

I have a new single to come, which is already done as the next preview to the upcoming album. The upcoming single is sensual and energetic. It’s called “Playing with Fire”. Also, I’m planning to hit the road this year.

Stay tuned.

How active are you on social media and where can people connect with you?

I’m very active!
