EMPYRE: New Single Out 25th September 2020

“Everything about EMPYRE’s beguiling music is colossal sounding” – Planet Rock
“Sound slick, vast and like the music was written with the help of an architectural blueprint for an arena” – Kerrang!
“Intense and atmospheric in equal measure with an additional dark edge”- Fireworks
“Thunderous rock with one of the meatiest sounds in the UK right now” – BBC Introducing

EMPYRE are thrilled to announce the release of their most haunting and unique acoustic song to date: Only Way Out on 25th September 2020, sure to leave the listener emotionally moved. To coincide with launch week, the band will also premiere a stylish acoustic video on 21st September.

Electric guitars are set aside and a mesmerising performance is captured in an intimate studio setting centered round a Yamaha Grand Piano. This single and video has already garnered the attention of Yamaha who are collaborating on the release and will be showcasing the video across their social media channels.

In addition, EMPYRE will be performing a socially distanced full live show at Blackpool’s iconic venue Waterloo Music Bar on Saturday 19th September.

Front-man Henrik Steenholdt comments: “Given the restrictions on hosting live music at present we consider it a privilege to be able to take to the stage at The Waterloo on September 19th. The fact that it’s one of our favourite venues to play in the country makes it all the more special, and after 6 months we can’t wait to feel the irreplaceable atmosphere of a real gig and perform in front of crowd.”

EMPYRE truly are a kaleidoscope of sonic colours and capabilities, they’ve adapted quickly to the new challenges this pandemic has brought. In fact, the band are bucking a trend by making the most of the lockdown and its aftermath, turning a crisis into an opportunity and showing a resilience and resourcefulness that not many others could have mastered by delivering fresh exciting content every week.

They welcomed fans to peek behind the curtains and get up-close and personal with the “Empyre at Home” series and Spotify Playlists. They’ve invited fans “inside” the music with ‘Isolation Sessions’ and they’ve even teamed up with international guitar publications providing guitar lessons; one was recently featured on Guitar World’s “Sick Riffs”, and can be watched above.

Alongside their digital presence, EMPYRE are “re-entering” the real world and plan to re-initiate their substantial live activity. The band already played an outdoor and socially distanced show in August in their hometown Northampton, and will perform another two shows by the end of September, one of which in Blackpool is already 99% sold out! In addition, EMPYRE will be performing an incredible main stage show at this year’s Planet Rockstock. Stay tuned for more tour news!

Only Way Out is the fourth acoustic single EMPYRE have released this year and follows a successful 2019, which saw EMPYRE launching the critically acclaimed and truly accomplished debut album Self Aware, a collection of 11 “all killer no filler” tracks, showcasing a band with skillful songwriting and a uniquely distinguishable sound.Self Aware led to Planet Rock proclaiming the band “Ones To Watch” and Classic Rock Magazine featuring them in the prestigious “High Hopes” piece.
