Dutch Schultz: New Single – ‘BRUTUS’

Birthed after one too many bevvies in an illicit Belfast speakeasy, Dutch Schultz have been barraging listeners’ ears with their outlaw brand of rock n roll for over 10 years.

Having released 2 well-received albums as a trio, mainstays Willy Mundell and Kevin Quinn (the tallest musician to take to a stage since Krist Novoselic), have been joined by guitarist Ryan “Snoop” O’Neill and bassist John McHugh in crafting their third album ‘Friends Like Brutus’. Recorded with producer and all round legend Russ Russell (Machine Head, Napalm Death, The Wildhearts), the band further hone their sound; combining noisy earworm riffs, soaring harmonies, and catchy choruses with tales of misfits, booze and hammer wielding gangs.

Influences include Helmet and the Jesus Lizard, with melodic sensibilities inspired by vocalist Willy’s unhealthy obsession with The Beatles.

Aside from creating controversy with their early live shows and singles such as It Bends In The Middle and LACF, band highlights include sharing the stage with Therapy?, a blistering performance at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Cormac Battle (singer of influential alt rockers Kerbdog) featuring in their single Big Dime and receiving press accolades like Kerrang Magazines KKKKs, 8/10 Rocksound, 4/5 Hotpress amongst many others.

After a few years hiatus due to Willy Mundell swapping guitar for drumsticks for side project Haunch (N.I. rockers including Therapy?s Michael McKeegan), Dutch Schultz would like you to join with them and welcome Brutus!
